One in 5 Indians fear losing their job, India no.1 on digitally dexterous
Sample: The survey was conducted on 1,000 respondents in India between April 7-10.
– 1 in 5 Indians is now worried about losing his or her job
– 16% fear getting a pay cut
– 8% fear not getting a bonus or increment this year
– The number of people saying they are very or fairly scared of contracting the virus is at 64 per cent
– The biggest concern related to the pandemic being the unavailability of essential items, which 37 per cent Indians are worried about
– The data showed that nearly half (47 per cent) have started exercising at home to keep themselves fit
– 46 per cent are making video calls to friends and family, who in normal times wouldn’t have turned to this form of communication.
Survey: Gartner Digital Workplace Survey 2019
Sample Sizes: The 2019 Gartner Digital Workplace Survey was conducted online from March through April 2019 among 7,261 respondents in the U.S., France, Germany and the U.K. China, India and Singapore.
– India is the most digitally dexterous country in the world – followed by the U.K. and the U.S
– Seven out of ten employees in India said that adoption of new digital technologies will create career opportunities and higher paying jobs
– Forty-five percent of digital workers in India do not mind having their work habits tracked and monitored by digital technologies.
– In India, 39% of digital workers want to be trained OTJ to keep their knowledge on AI, ML, IoT up to date, which is the highest amongst the survey respondents.
Mckinsey Pre-Lockdown Survey
Sample: Over 560 Indians participated in the global survey in the days leading to the national lockdown for the survey, when many parts of India like Maharashtra had already gone into a lockdown.
– A third of Indian shoppers have switched loyalties and begun purchasing from newer merchants for their grocery requirements after the COVID-19 outbreak
– The survey findings said proximity was the biggest driving factor for the shift to a new shop, followed by others who switched to online alternatives, A feeling of the regular store being unsafe or not infection free was the third cause of the change in behaviour, followed closely by better service at the new shop
– Many of the consumers reported that they had to switch to newer brand alternatives, but nearly 90 per cent of them said they will go back to their preferred brand once the crisis is over, it said.
