Shahrukh Khan Heals Bengal, Contributes for Cyclone Amphan Relief
Amidst the ongoing crisis in the country, Shah Rukh Khan has lent a hand to help people around the country. Cyclone Amphan, which recently wreaked havoc in Bengal and neighboring states, has left a trail of devastation behind. The current pandemic crisis is an added burden to the state.
Shah Rukh Khan came forward to help out those in need during these unprecedented times. The Kolkata Knight Riders team has forever been grateful for the love and support they received from Bengal, and now have gathered to help the state which is need. Together they have joined hands and contributed to the West Bengal’s CM Relief Fund. In addition to this Kolkata Knight Riders will work with the authorities and plant 5000 trees in Kolkata. They also will distribute ration and other essential items across the districts which have been worst hit by the cyclone Amphan.
Shah Rukh Khan stated that, “We need to stand firm during this difficult period and smile together once again.”.
This is not the first time King Khan has come forward to provide relief in a matter of crisis. Earlier this year Shah Rukh Khan launched a series of initiatives to help people affected by coronavirus. He lent his office to the BMC to use as a quarantine facility. Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri have made sizeable donation to the Maharashtra CM’s relief fund. He has also partnered with wife Gauri, actress Juhi Chawla, and Jay Mehta to donate to the PM Cares Fund.
Kolkata Knight Riders and Shah Rukh Khan’s NGO Meer Foundation will also contribute 50000 PPE kits to healthcare professionals in Maharashtra and Bengal. They will also provide 3 lakh meals to daily wage workers in the state. King khan will work with his NGO and other associations to provide much needed support in the coronavirus affected states.
Shah Rukh Khan shares a warm and friendly relationship with Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee. she refers to him as her ‘charming brother’. King khan has a huge fan base in the state and never misses attending the Kolkata film festival. West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee has expressed her gratitude to Khan for helping out in such difficult times. His altruistic nature has been applauded by the CM.
