Sushant Singh Rajput Suicide : If there is anything apart from the coronavirus pandemic that has the whole country’s attention it is the Sushant Singh Rajput suicide mystery and with each passing day, the case just seems to get complicated.

Sushant Singh Rajput Suicide : Why Rhea was summoned by ED?

The case has different law enforcement agencies at wit’s end, while the case comes under the jurisdiction of the Mumbai Police, Bihar Police has filed an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty and recently, the case was handed over from the Mumbai police to the CBI by the centre, a move questioned by Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer. But in the latest development the Enforcement Directorate (ED) an agency that looks at financial scams, summoned Rhea Chakraborty for a money-laundering probe and her involvement in the finances of her boyfriend and late Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer had requested for the postponement of the recording of her statement till the Supreme Court hearing, a request that was duly denied by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). On August 7, 2020, Rhea Chakraborty accompanied by her brother was questioned by the ED. Her brother Showik left the ED’s office after 2 hours of questioning while Rhea was asked to stay back for some more questions. ED’s questions can be expected to revolve around the actress’s investments, income, business and professional deals and a property linked to her, located in the Khar suburb of Mumbai.

In addition to Rhea, ED has summoned Sushant Singh Rajput’s friend Siddharth Pithani to appear before the agency before the 8th of August and also wants to questions at the actor’s business manager Shruti Modi.

A plea filed by Rhea’s lawyer seeking the transfer of the FIR filed by Sushant’s father from Patna to Bihar has been keenly fought by the Bihar Police which called the plea premature, misconceived and non-maintainable. Several caveats were filed in the Supreme Court regarding this case and it is expected that a second hearing on this plea will take place next week.

With the involvement of the ED, the transfer of the case to the CBI and an impending Supreme Court hearing, it seems that the Sushant Singh Rajput suicide mystery is far from over.
