Team South Africa
South Africa made their Cricket World Cup debut in Australia in the 1992. The team which was playing its first World Cup tournament had a dream run in the tournament. However, their journey came to end in rain affected Semi finals against England. Since then the Proteus had reached the world cup semis four time, however they failed to convert it to the World Cup win. This time the team is led by the Faf du Plesis. In fact the South African team seems to be the most balanced squad among the World Cup teams. From batsman like Quinton De Cock, Hasim Amla, Faf du Plesis to the bowlers like Kagiso Rabada and Imran Tahir, the Proteus make up one of the strongest squads in World Cup 2019.
