Google: Pakistanis don’t care for Kashmir, only their Army does
During the last 30 days, we have had a lot more spare time due to the Lockdown. So we have been Googling a lot. Searching about Pakistan has increased since lockdown began. Let us look at what we have been searching about Pakistan in the last 30 days
- GDP of Pakistan
- India asking Pakistan to vacate POK
- Petrol Price in Pakistan
- POK
- Gilgit in POK
In India, States more likely to be Googling about Pakistan in the last 30 days include – J&K, Bihar, Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh
In Pakistan, the reverse has happened. Post their Lockdown, they were searching less about India. What did they search in the last 30 days?
- Irfan Khan Actor
- Petrol Price in India
- Time in India
- COVID-19 in India
Irfan Khan was heavily searched in Balochistan, Sind and the former NWFP region.
What appears to be missing in this list? Kashmir
In fact, even when one looks at a 12 month period, there is no Kashmir anywhere. During this period, Pakistanis were 36 times more likely to search for India than Kashmir. The biggest bounce for Kashmir occurred during the ending of Article 370. Even then search volumes were lower than searches for India. In simple words, no one really cares.
The only people Googling about Kashmir are the ones living in POK and FATA. It appears that for all the rhetoric, Pakistani people have more things to worry than Kashmir. Two of the biggest regions – Punjab and Sind are more worried about Economy than Kashmir.
It appears that only the Army in Pakistan is obsessed with Kashmir because it sustains their loot of the Pakistan Budget.
