Arsenal will host Watford in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Gunners continued their progress after some initial hiccups and registered a deserving 2-0 victory over Leicester City in the last match. They have climbed up to sixth place and are level on points with Manchester United.

With the fixtures coming thick and fast the North Londoners need to carry on the momentum. They will be facing Liverpool after the international break and Mikel Arteta needs to ensure things don’t turn ugly under his tutelage.

With only three points separating them from the relegation zone Watford have almost entered into the relegation catfight. The Hornets have been erratic throughout the season and it’s really difficult to make anything out of them.

They were thrashed 5-0 by Liverpool, they went on to haunt Everton with a late flurry of goals and then again lost to Southampton.

With Claudio Ranieri in charge they have turned out to be one of the unpredictable side and Arsenal need to be at their best to have any chances against them.

After undergoing a busy summer there was hope as everyone believed in Arteta’s vision of rebuilding the team. But after some initial doldrums the Spaniard seems to have found his best eleven and the results speaks for him.The likes of Bukayo Saka, Emile Smith Rowe, Aaron Ramsdale, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Martin Odegaard and Albert Lokonga have been a pivotal part of the starting lineup and have delivered constantly.

In Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette the Gunners have two of the most fiercest goal poachers in world football. They can finish with half a chances and their conversion rate is very good.

Smith Rowe is not the typical winger one would like to see as he loves to cuts inside with the ball while Bukayo Saka loves to take on defenders on his own.Nuno Tavares has the pace to match Arsenal’s counter attacks and Tomiyasu can defend whataver comes through his side. Ramsdale has been outstanding since he replaced Bernrd Leno in the goal and made some breathtaking saves to keep Arsenal in the Leicester City game.

Watford looked vulnerable against pressing opponents and they could find it even more difficult against Arsenal. They are lacking a ball player who could stretch the defence with a inch perfect pass.Ashley Fletcher did create some panic in the Southamton defensive line with his presence but that is not the long term solution for Claudio Ranieri.

I can only comment on the Arsenal experience. Was Steve Bruce that bad? Did NUFC (great club by the way) give him sufficient funds and backing? Only Geordie Boys can answer that. Good luck with Emri, you deserve to be up with the BIG boys.

It’s so funny seeing all the people who mocked Emery as a manager during his time at Arsenal (and rightly so), now trying to justify how he’s a top coach. Awful man management and an awful brand of football, I don’t care what anyone says.
