Aston Villa are slated to make a winning start under Steven Gerrard’s guidance against Brighton & Hove Albion as per the latest Aston Villa vs Brighton Prediction and Odds

Aston Villa will start their new regime as they set to host Brighton & Hove Albion at Villa Park on Saturday in the Premier League.

Steven Gerrard is back in the Premier League and this time as a manager of the renowned club Aston Villa. Gerrard guided Rangers to the Scottish Premiership title last season and will have the responsibility to guide Villa to safety with the club hovering around the relegation zone.

Brighton have been excellent this season with Graham Potter leading the team to the seventh position. Level on points with Manchester United.

Both the teams have had different perspectives coming into the game and a win for Brighton would further reduce the gap with the top four.

Aston Villa vs Brighton Prediction and Odds: Preview

Gerrard doesn’t have the time to ponder as losing this match would further get them into a relegation battle fight as they are just two points adrift of the drop zone.

Villa got rid of Dean Smith after five consecutive losses and the onus will be on  Gerrard to bring back a smile on the face of the Villa supporters.

Gerrard loves to deploy an attacking 4-3-3 with the fullbacks having the license to combine with their attackers in front. Both Matty Cash and Matt Targett are known for their attacking characteristics and we might see some attacking fireworks on the very first day.

The former Liverpool midfielder could tweak with the existing lineup and might introduce some new faces in the starting eleven.

Ollie Watkins and Emiliano Buendia are expected to start on the flanks while Danny Ings will spearhead the attack. Villa sold Jack Grealish to Manchester City in the summer and reinvested in but so far have failed to replace Grealish’s attributes in the side.

Aston Villa vs Brighton Prediction

For Brighton, Robert Sanchez is not available as he received the marching order against Newcastle United in the last match. The Seagulls build their attack from the back and Sanchez plays a pivotal part in it. He is one of the best ball playing keepers in the business and it remains to be seen how Jason Steele performs in his absence.

Trossard will be once again likely to fill the false nine role. He has excelled in this position as he often takes on opposition defenders on his own which further creates space for other players to attack from behind.

Trossard was very effective against Liverpool as he had almost scored the winner against the Reds.

Tariq Lamptey is back from injury. The youngster was a revelation last season but he has missed a large part of this ongoing season due to injury.

He is a very intelligent player and loves to dominate positions from the right. Brighton’s attacking input increases whenever he is in the team and he will make it count against Villa.

The Seagulls have drawn five games, the second most among the top 10 sides. They should have won against Norwich City and Arsenal as given their current form they should beat the relegation strugglers with ease.

They need to start winning matches if they want to be in Europe next season.

Tell you one thing that isn’t discussed enough, Steven Gerrard’s hair. The man has not deviated from the short back and sides with a bit on top for well over a decade, going pure skin head before that. Can only assume that like everything in his life, its all about consistency.
