Corona Deaths: Which age group has the highest risk?

The Government of India yesterday released more data on Corona deaths. Some age groups are more vulnerable than other age groups

Out of the 21623 who died as of yesterday

  • 11460 are 60 years and above age
  • 6919 are between 45 and 59
  • 2379 are between the age of 30 and 44
  • 649 are between 15 and 29
  • 216 are 14 years and below

Corona Deaths Per Million Population by Age group (SRS Data)

  • 60 years or more – 105 deaths per million population
  • 45 to 59 years of age – 37 deaths per million population
  • 30 to 44 years of age – 8 deaths per million population
  • 15 to 29 years of age – 2 deaths per million population
  • 14 years or below – 1 death per million population
Corona Deaths

Globally there have been 72 deaths per million population which means that our older population is far more vulnerable than the average person on the planet. On the other hand, most of our working population and children are far less vulnerable than the average person.

Corona Deaths: The States with the highest risk last week were

  1. Delhi, 260 people per crore of population lost their lives
  2. Maharashtra was next with 125 per crore of Population
  3. Tamil Nadu was next with 60 per crore of population
  4. Karnataka was 4th with 23 per crore of population
  5. Gujarat was 5th with 22 per crore of population
