Fresno State is predicted to win the upcoming game against UNLV Rebels as per the latest Fresno State vs UNLV Prediction and Betting Odds

Fresno State Bulldogs will host the UNLV Rebels on Friday in the Mountain West Conference.

Bulldogs managed a slender victory over UCLA in the last match and will be looking to build on this win. They have been very ruthless against the minnows and will look to push from the very first minute.

UNLV struggled against Iowa State in the last match and will have to be very cautious against an in-form Fresno State. They are still tipped to be a contender for the Group of Five’s spot and will unleash all their power against the home side.

Bulldogs came from behind a staggering 11 times in their first four games. UNLV needs to enforce the Bulldogs to commit more mistakes if they want to have any chance in the game.

UNLV also needs to work on their passing as they cannot afford to have any more slip-ups. They are averaging just 209 yards and it won’t b enough to stop their opponents.

They were very poor against Arizona and Iowa and they don’t seem to have the ammunition to fire against Fresno State. So it could be a walk in the park for Jake Haener and Co.

Fresno State vs UNLV Prediction and Betting Odds: Recent Form

UNLV needs to pick themselves up having conceded a number of defeats this season. They can’t seem to run their passing game thick and fast and Fresno could hurt them pretty badly.

UNLV hasn’t been at their best in the last two games and hasn’t managed to cross 100 yards which could be worrisome for them.

Fresno has averaged 43 points in every match in comparison to UNLV’s 15.3. They haven’t given their opponent much room and have only allowed 19.5 points on the average whereas UNLV opponents have managed to score a staggering 40 points.

When it comes to hitting the yards Fresno has recorded 537.8 on average and UNLV has barely managed 208 yards on average.

There is a distant gap in the quality of both the teams and Fresno will definitely have the upper hand.

Fresno State vs. UNLV: Three Keys to a Rebels Win

With their defeat against Iowa UNLV is yet to register any win so far this season. Marcus Arroyo’s side opened the season with a loss to Eastern Washington and their schedule hasn’t been that kind to him as they are billed against three top 25 teams back to back.

Arroyo insisted they will try to learn from their top 25 foes. “The growth in our program will come from challenges like this, back-to-back Top 25 teams and seeing how we stand up against them and continue to find some good football in there.

“Particularly with a young group and with depth that’s different than some of those teams.”

A number of different quarterbacks tried their luck for the Rebels but none of them has made a major impact so far. Doug Brumfield could take the field after missing the Iowa game due to an injury.

Fresno State vs UNLV Prediction and Betting Odds: Players to Watch Out

Jake Haener: The Fresno quarterback has been in devastating form and single handedly led his team to a brilliant win over UCLA in the last game.

He already has registered 3485 yards and has also completed 68.1% of his passing. Added to that 24 touchdowns and six interceptions speak volumes of his talent and UCLA will be aware of the threat he possesses.

RB Ronnie Rivers: Rivers was the man of the match in the last meeting with 232 all-purpose yards and 4 TDs. He accumulated a whopping 99 receiving and 133 yards receiving. He will try to emulate his last season’s form

RB Charles Williams: The Fresno native has 3194 yards of rushing in his tally which is more than any Fresno player. Williams showed flashes of brilliance against Eastern Washington with 172 yards and two TDs but has failed to cross the  77 yards hurdle in the past two weeks against Arizona State and Iowa State. He will definitely try to have a go against Fresno.

Kyle Williams: Receiver Kyle Williams recorded 117 receiving yards.

Doug Brumfield: Doug is the leading passer for the Rebels with 176 passing yards.

Philip Hill: Philip has recorded 17 tackles and one interception

Nohl Williams: Nohl has 11 tackles and one interception this season.

Fresno State vs UNLV Prediction and Betting Odds: Game Preview

Rebels defence needs to take a rear gurad to keep them in the game and they could take a diferent approach to deal with Haener. Just sitting back and deep defend won’t be a suitable option for the away side. So linebacker Austin Ajiake could find himself in a new role an he could roll the dice against Fresno’s stalwart attacking unit.

UNLV strruggled in their defeat against Iowa State and will try to rectify their mistakes coming into this game. They only had seven first downs which complicated their plot in the last match. They need to improve their passing if they are to grind out something from this game.

Haener showed his class in the last match as he made a 75 yards touchdown drive at the last moment to round off a famous win over UCLA. But they cannot be complacent and Haener needs to guid his team from the front.

Fresno could approach the match a little easier as Heaner seems to be nurisng a hip injury from the last match. They shouldn’t have any problem dealing with the rebels but their opponent are pretty charged up and the home side could expect some fireworks from their side.

Rebels offence has been pretty poor since the start of this season as Doug Brumfield has had to deal with injuries throughout this season. With Doug expected to be available Rebels should have their hands full. Charles Williams should be able play his natural game Brumfield should find the open receivers.

The Bulldogs entered the AP Poll for the first time since 2018 after beating UCLA in the last game. Fresno States last home game as a ranked team was way back in 2013 when Derek Carr’s brilliance on the pitch helped Bulldogs to a 24-17 win over Utah State in the 2013 Mountain West championship game.
