Wolverines are not expected to try anything new. They will rely on their attacking contingent to send them to the desired victory and if they don’t make a mistake they are favourites to win this game quite handsomely.

Michigan’s rushing attack has been their strong point and they have been attacking all the teams pretty profusely. They were dealt a major blow when receiver Ronnie Bell got sidelined for the remainder of the season.

But they have managed to cope up without his service and have survived so far.

Michigan vs Rutgers Prediction and Betting Odds: Recent Form

Rutgers will be without Max Melton who has been suspended after being arrested by the police for a paintball gun incident. Coach Greg Schiano confirmed both Melton and reserve Chris Long have been suspended.

“I was informed that Chris Long and Malachi Melton were taken into police custody early this morning as a result of an incident involving a paintball gun.

“Both players have been suspended immediately.”

Rutgers University Police Chief also released a statement regarding the incident.

“On Monday … at approximately 10 p.m., the Rutgers University Police Department (RUPD) responded to the area of Livingston Campus in the Township of Piscataway for the report of three student victims that were struck with paintballs discharged from a motor vehicle. The three victims sustained minor injuries and declined further medical attention on the scene.

“An investigation completed by the RUPD resulted in the arrest of two male suspects on (Tuesday).”

Melton’s defensive antics have been a huge asset for and he will be hugely missed. Rutgers is ranked 15th when it comes to passing defence and Michigan must be aware of it.

Wolverines have one of the best passing attacks in the business and Rutgers’defence will have a tough task to cut out.

Cornelius Johnson will take the advantage in the absence of Melton and it could turn out to be an one sided affair.

Knights’ linemen have managed to get at least one sack this season so Michigan need to keep a watch on it.

Rutgers offence has been very good this campaign and they could ring in a few surprises in this match. Their attack isn’t the most famous but they are known for their consistency and makes rare mistakes.

In turnover margin they are currently third. They have managed to keep their opponents within 261 yards.

It’s going to be a Michigan offence vs Rutgers defence affair. Their attackers are capable of throwing big yards and Rutgers passing defence has been one of their concerning points.

If the Wolverines keep it simple this time the Rutgers might find it difficult to crack as they don’t seem to have any plan B in their kitty.

Schiano admitted playing against Michigan won’t be an easy task.

“Well, let’s make it clear where we haven’t turned anything around, right.

“We’ve had a good start to our non-conference schedule, but this is what I keep talking about — Rutgers in the Big Ten. Now we start playing our Big Ten schedule and that’s what it’s all about. That’s what it’s all about. So we have to go and show that we belong, and we haven’t done that yet. We won a couple games but, as I’ve said to you before, I don’t feel like 2020 was real. I think you didn’t really get a real picture of every team. So, yeah, the distorted picture — and I’m not taking anything away from what the players or staff did here, but this is real.
