As China tries to bleed India, US condemns its behaviour

China has been using a 3 fold strategy to attack India during the last 30 days.

  • Picking up fist fights with Indian Border Personnel
  • Its proxy in Nepal has published new Maps including Indian territory
  • Its proxy in Rawalpindi has escalated terrorist violence in Kashmir

Alice Wells, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia at the U.S. Department of State in her outgoing remarks condemned China for its provocative behaviour

For anyone who is under any illusions that Chinese aggression was only rhetorical, they need to speak to India. Where India on a weekly, monthly and certainly on a regular basis has to experience the pinpricks of Chinese military & it is a reminder of what’s at stake in building a world order that respects the sovereignty and the territorial integrity and respect rules.

When you look at South China Sea, there is a method to Chinese Operations, Constant Aggression, a constant attempt to shift the norms, to shift the Status Quo and this has to be resisted.

The flare-ups on the border, I think, are reminder that Chinese aggression is not always just rhetorical. And so whether it’s on the South China Sea or whether it’s along the border with India we continue to see provocations and disturbing behaviour by China that raises questions about how China seeks to use its growing power
