Coronavirus Outbreak in Odisha : The coronavirus cases in India are rapidly escalating and the country has been reporting over half a lakh positive coronavirus cases every day. The outbreak in India is reaching new heights every day. The total caseload, at 2.91 million, is just a nick short of the three million mark. The daily deaths due to the coronavirus are also very close to breaching the one thousand mark. Till date, as many as 54,849 people have lost their lives due to the virus.

However, the epidemic in different states is working at different levels. The recovery rate, active caseload, etc varies from state to state.

Uttarakhand and Odisha are also experiencing a different level virus outbreak in their respective states. Here are a few parameters which give an account of the condition of the worst affected areas in the state-

Odisha’s recovery rate stands at 66.8%. Around 48557 people have recovered from the virus now. The total confirmed cases in the state are 72718 as of now. 443 people have lost their lives due to the virus in the state. Per million population, the state has 1665.1 confirmed cases. The Fatality rate is 0.6% With 32.6% active cases in the state, 23698 people are still undergoing treatment for the virus.

Per million, as many as 26846.8 sample shave been tested in the state. In totality, as many as 11.72 lakh tests have been conducted in the state.

The most deaths in the state due to coronavirus have been reported from the following districts-

Dehradun- 97 deaths

Nainital- 40 deaths

Haridwar- 23 deaths

Udham Singh Nagar- 12 deaths

Uttarakhand’s recovery rate stands at 69.2%. Around 9433 people have recovered from the virus now. The total confirmed cases in the state are 13636 as of now. 187 people have lost their lives due to the virus in the state. Per million population, the state has 1223.9 confirmed cases. The Fatality rate is 1.4%. With 29.1% active cases in the state, 3966 people are still undergoing treatment for the virus.

Per million, as many as 25,700.6 samples have been tested in the state. In totality, as many as 2.86 lakh tests have been conducted in the state.
