Coronavirus Update India : The coronavirus cases in India have been on a rise. Every day a new record in the spike is being witnessed. It was not long ago when India crossed the one million mark, and now the number of cases is nearing 13,00,000.
India reported 49,031 cases in the past 24 hours. This is incredibly high, and there seems to be no relief from the virus in the country. The number of cases preceded the number of recoveries per day yesterday. As many as 36,604 people recovered of the disease yesterday.
The number of active cases in India stands at 4,40,135 which is much lesser than the number of total recovered cases, which is 8,17,208.
In the last one day, 740 deaths due to the virus have been registered. The total number of deaths due to the virus now stands at 30,601.
Yesterday, on Thursday, as many as 3,52,801 samples were tested in the country. The number of tests per day has risen significantly. However, the worrying factor is the rising daily number of cases. Every day a new record is being created. Days are not far when India will move ahead of Brazil to be the 2nd most affected country in the world by coronavirus. Yet, the central government denies any report of community transmission in country.
The total number of cases in India, at 12,87,945 are awfully short of crossing the 13-lakh mark. And with the current growth trend of about 50k cases a day, it won’t take more than 24-48 hours to breach this grim milestone.
Coronavirus Update India : Which states have turned into new hotspots?
The states of Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Telangana, Odisha, West Bengal, Assam and Uttar Pradesh have started reporting large number of daily cases.
After Kerala and West Bengal, another state has declared community transmission. The Telangana health department has issued a warning of community spread in the state. However, the state health department does not agree with the health official’s claims of community spread.
Southern Indian states have been witnessing the biggest spikes in the cases per day. Andhra Pradesh reported around 8000 new cases. Tamil Nadu and Karnataka are have been reporting usual high number of cases.
With upcoming Indian festivals such as Rakhshabandhan, independence day, Ganesh chaturthi, the government has been issuing guidelines in order to avoid any formation of clusters and new containment zones. The government has been reiterating the fact that people should not gather to celebrate the festivals. The condition of India amidst the pandemic is awfully bad and further negligence will prove to be costly for the country.
World-wide as many as 15,445,043 coronavirus cases have been registered so far. 8,763,516 people have recovered, and 632,173 people have died of the virus in the world.
