Five Good News From India and Around the World Amid Coronavirus Pandemic: Coronavirus has infected more than 1.5 crore people across the globe since outbreak. No vaccine has been developed yet, to protect against the deadly novel virus. The scientists and researchers around the world are working day in and day out to develop Coronavirus vaccine. However, amid the ongoing pandemic there has been some good news from India and around the world with respect to Coronavirus.

1. Oxford Vaccine found to be Safe and triggers Immune response

A coronavirus vaccine developed by the University of Oxford appears safe and triggers an immune response. On 20th July, the result of Phase I and Phase II human trials of vaccine developed by Oxford University in collaboration with Astrazeneca were published in the Lancent Medical Journal. As per the report, the Coronavirus vaccine candidate was found to be safe and induces immune reaction in body.

2. Recovery Rate of India is one of the best in World

On Wednesday 22nd July, India witnessed the recovery of highest number of coronavirus patients in a single day. 28,472 patients recovered on Wednesday. Not only this the overall recovery rate of India is one of the best in the World. Recovery rate of India at present stands at 63.13%. Delhi has over 85% of recovery rate as of now while for Tamil Nadu recovery rate stands at 70.56% higher than the national average.

3. Mumbai is Finally Recovering

Mumbai which was once considered as the Corona capital of India, is finally recovering. The cases in the city is gradually declining. The overall active cases in Mumbai is just 23,393 as of now while 75,118 have already recovered. The recovery rate in Mumbai at present stands 71%. The doubling rate in the city has also improved. Now the doubling rate stands at 57 days.  The number of containment zones in the city at present stands at 667 down from previous 747 zones. Recovering of Mumbai comes at a time when Maharashtra has reported over 10K in last 24 hours.

4. Human Trials of COVAXIN started

The human trials of COVAXIN, Indias indigenous COVID-19 vaccine developed by Bharat Biotech in collaboration with the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) started. 1500 volunteers in 15 cities across India are included in the first phase of the vaccine trial for COVAXIN. A good news came from Haryana. PGI Rohtak began human trials of Bharat biotech and ICMR’s vaccine candidate, Covaxin. As per the Health Minister of Haryana, Anil Vij  three subjects were enrolled and all have tolerated the vaccine very well. There were no adverse efforts.

5. Production of Oxford Vaccine “Covishield” begins in India

The coronavirus vaccine developed by Oxford University in collaboration with Astrazeceneca have begun its production in India. As per India TV report, the SERUM institute of India have already began the production of the vaccine in India. As per the report, the company intends to develop 2-3 million doses of vaccine by the end of August. Recently Adar Poonawalla, Chief Executive officer of Serum Institute of India said that 50% of the vaccine produced by them will be available for Indian’s. The vaccine comes as a hope at a time when Coronavirus is spreading exponentially.

The pandemic coronavirus have created a sense of fear in minds and hearts of people. However, everyday there is some positive news in connection to the Coronavirus from India and around the world.
