Galwan Cash: Breaking News report from The Hindu

An understanding was reached during the June 30 Corps Commander-level talks and a survey was done to verify if China had acted on its assurances on 5th of July. As per the survey, the Chinese soldiers have shifted two km away from the site of the Galwan Clash. Both the sides have removed the temporary structures that were constructed after the clash of June 15. As reported by The Hindu, according to the June 30 disengagement plan, the two military commanders indicated that at first the de-escalation would take place at all the friction points — Galwan, Pangong Tso, Hot Springs — and then “depth areas” such as Depsang plains in the north, where China had amassed troops, would be looked into.

Situation has been Stable since June 16th

Since June 15, both India and China have built several bunkers and temporary structures along LAC and it was nothing less than a war-like situation along LAC. However, while the troops of both the country were alert, several rounds of military level talks were held between the senior army officers of both the countries. Recently, that is on 4th of July, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Leh and met the soldiers who were injured during the in the Galwan Clash. China was quick to react and said that no one should take any step so that the situation along the LAC escalates. The news of Chinese troops moving 2-kms away comes as welcome step towards restoring peace along the LAC.
