Amid growing Coronavirus cases in Delhi, Home Minister Amit Shah held a high level all party meet. The meeting was attended by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Lieutenant Governor Anil Bijal. Delhi is the third most affected state/UT in India after Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra being the first. At present the COVID-19 cases in Delhi has crossed 41K mark and deaths have passed over 1300. The meeting was called after the Supreme Court of India pointed out the degrading situation of health in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Delhi.
India’s recovery rate rises to 51.1% up from previous 49.47%. This good news comes at a time when the daily COVID-19 cases in country is touching 12K mark. In last 24 hours, India added more than 11K new cases. However, in last 24 hours 8049 Corona positive people tested negative. At present there are 24,032 active cases in national capital and 15,823 COVID-19 patients have recovered.
At present, in India 9524 people has succumbed to COVID19 while 1,69,817 people have recovered so far. Interestingly, so far there has been a total 3,33,257 reported cases but the number of active cases, which stands at 1,53,876, is lower than the recovered ones. Though there has been rapid increase in number of cases, there is a hope with the increase in number of recoveries.
Amid the gloomy state of pandemic, states like Karnataka, Kerala, West Bengal reported more number of recoveries than the positive cases. India at present is the 4th most affected country by Coronavirus in the world just behind USA, Brazil and Russia.
States of Delhi and Tamil Nadu are still reporting very high numbers of Coronavirus positive cases. Today’s meeting indirectly indicates active involvement of Home Ministry to tackle the growing cases in National Capital. We hope that there will be a positive outcome and Delhi will be able to get its mojo “Dilwalo Ki Delhi” back.
