Shocking: Two India Staffers in Pakistan Goes Missing
Two staffers working in Indian High Commission in Pakistan reportedly goes went missing since early morning today. The two missing officials are believed to be CISF officials. The matter has been taken up with Pakistan as soon as the report of the missing officials started floating.
Tension between India-Pakistan escalated after two Pakistani Staff of Pakistan High Commission in Delhi were apprehended by Indian agencies on charges of espionage. Abid Hussain and Mohammed Tahir were the two staffs working in Pakistan High Commission. They were immediately asked to leave India. Since then the already existing tension between two nations escalated.
As a retaliation, Pakistan geared up harassment of Indian Diplomats and officials in Islamabad. On Thursday, 4 June, Gaurav Ahluwalia, Indian Charge d’affairs was closely tailed by ISI staff, as a measure to intimidate the Indian Official. Ever since India declared the two Pakistani officials as Persona Non grata, Pakistan has been attempting to disrupt the Indian High Commission smooth functioning.
This is not the first time an occurrence of this sort has been observed. In 2016, Akhtar Mahmood, a Pakistani national was busted for running a spy racket and was working in the Visa section of the High Commission in New Delhi.
India and Pakistan have often engaged in such activities, of declaring the diplomats as persona non grata after expelling them on the charges of espionage. However, today’s act as reported will simply cause a bigger strain in relationship of New Delhi and Islamabad. Two countries have been at the brink of war, this act may not go well in India-Pakistan relationship book.
