Democratic Primary Polls: Charlie Crist 41%, Nikki Fried 26%.

Google Trends: Charlie Crist: 59% Nikki Fried: 40%

Florida General Election Poll: Ron DeSantis 44%, Charlie Crist 39%

The Florida governor elections will be held in the month of November 8, 2022. The incumbent governor of Florida is Ron Desantis. The Primary polls will take place on August 23rd, 2022.

Florida’s Governor Ron DeSantis is expected to win re-election, as he leads most polls. From the Democratic party, Charlie Crist is ahead in all polls and most likely to win the Primaries.

Latest Poll Findings
As per the latest Polls, 50% of Male voters prefer Charlie Crist, and 24% of voters are with Nikki Fried.
Among Female voters, 43% are willing to vote for Crist and just 25% to vote for Fried.
People below the age of 30 with the support of 60% are likely to vote for Crist while over 22% are with Fried.
Charlie Crist is also getting maximum support from the age of 70 as 52% vote share is with him and just 20% is with Fried.
Around 70% of Asian voters are likely to support Crist and 10% to Fried.
The Hispanic voters also favor Crist with 49% supporting him and 26% with Fried.
Overall Charlie Crist is the most favored candidate compared to Nikki Fried. In the month of November, it is most likely a contest will be observed between Charlie Crist and incumbent Governor Ron Desantis.

The Democratic Primary election has over 10 candidates running but only three candidates had a vote share of over 5%, Charlie Crist, Nikki Fried, and Annette Taddeo. However, on June 6th Taddeo withdrew from the race making the Florida Governor Primary more of a contest between Charlie Crist and Nikki Fried.

There’s a large chunk of Puerto Ricans in Florida, especially in the Orlando Metro area. They moved to Florida due to its cultural similarities, the poor economic conditions in Puerto Rico, and after Hurricane Maria devastated the island in 2018. The remaining Latino population is very diverse, hailing from various countries in South America including Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela, etc.

Florida has been crowned as one of the best places to retire due to its weather and beaches. Thus the state also has a large retiree population. 20% of the population is over 65 years of age.

Florida has been a reliable swing state since 1992 fiercely contested between the 2 major parties.

In the last 20 years, the Republican party has grown more powerful in Florida and has been able to win over most state-level elected offices. Currently, except for the Agriculture Commissioner, it holds nearly each and every single office in the state including the 2 Senate seats and 16/27 US House Representative Seats.

Registered Democrats are 35.93% of total voters
