Observations and Insights
Kemp has been an object of Scorn for Trump after the 2020 election owing to the vote-counting controversy in Georgia that Trump thought was stolen from him. By backing former senator David Perdue, Trump hoped to take revenge against the Governor. Kemp has used his 20 years of experience in state politics to his advantage. Over the last 12 months, Kemp consolidated his position further by focussing on Stacey Abrams has maintained a relative silence focussing on Fundraising and meeting and talking to voters. Stacey Abrams has one advantage, she is seen far more positively on Social Media than Brian Kemp. The real challenge for her will be to expand in the middle and outside traditional progressive issues to win many of the Independent voters who shifted from Trump to Biden. With Biden in serious trouble, that would be a huge challenge. |
